Suspected road traffic accidents

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), insurance fraud costs the industry over £2 billion per annum. Wide reaching detection and claims investigations are the only ways to stop this trend. A recent estimate put the cost of fraud at nearly £40 per motor customer.

In the eighteen years we’ve been investigating complex motor claims fraud, criminals’ methods have changed beyond recognition - as have the tactics we employ to combat them. But, no matter how sophisticated our techniques become, our job remains the same: to identify and investigate fraudulent claims cost-effectively, without penalising the honest customer or damaging your reputation.

Complex Technical Services

Our service has been designed to deliver a complete investigative solution to all motor claims that we suspect may be organised in nature, either in isolation or as part of a wider reaching conspiracy. We handle over 14,000 claims a year.

The media has assisted in raising awareness of ‘Crash for Cash’ type scenarios, and as a result of this publicity we have seen a gradual increase in the identification of such incidents, with customers raising their concerns in respect of sudden braking incidents, to their insurers. Over the past four years we have seen a subtle change in modus operandi from personal lines vehicles to the ‘white van man’ target, and now to the large self-insured type fleets, including tankers, heavy goods vehicles and foreign fleets.

We improve customer satisfaction by removing dishonest customers from your book. We reduce claims spend through the detection and containment of fraudulent claims. We will provide you with the peace of mind that we have the expertise to deal with fraudulent customers and claimants alike.

The tactics we use are matched proportionately to the value of the claim and your key objectives. Our team has over eighty years combined police and insurance investigation experience. For our intelligence we use i2 technology and work with the National Intelligence Model. We have a national network of both employed investigators and licensed field investigators. Our investigators are specifically trained in this area.

We have our own forensic laboratory with document analysis equipment. We ensure that our findings are clearly presented, Civil Protocol Rules compliant and that conclusions are reached in a coherent, timely and persuasive manner.
