MISSISSAUGA, ON - September 16, 2011 - Cunningham Lindsey Canada Claims Services Ltd (Cunningham Lindsey) has assembled a Catastrophe (CAT) response team in preparation for Hurricane Maria which is expected to make landfall later today, Newfoundland time.
Maria is expected to reach winds of approximately 140 km an hour and hit anywhere from Placentia Bay to Cape Race, Newfoundland and Labrador.
"Reports have indicated that the tides will be high in regions of the Province and winds will be intense," said Mike Morris, Vice President, National Operations. "The path of the storm is predicted to strike areas which have not fully recovered from 2010 storm activity and once again access may be challenging in outlying areas. Of particular concern is any reduction in storm speed will result in increased rainfall accumulation."
In anticipation, Morris has worked closely with Larry Hay, Cunningham Lindsey Atlantic Regional Manager, and Nick MacDonald, Cunningham Lindsey Regional CAT Coordinator, to allocate a team of adjusters to respond.
Hurricane Maria claims can be sent directly to our 24/7 call centre at 1-800-ADJUST4, callcentre@cl-na.com, or fax 1-800-767-9907. Upon receipt, new assignments will be reviewed and triaged by the Regional CAT Coordinator for handling by adjuster deployed in the region.
