Cunningham Lindsey responds to Cyclone Phet

7 Jun 10

Cyclone Phet which hit Oman's eastern coast last Friday as a category one cyclone was felt in many parts of the country, with winds reaching up to 120 km (75 miles) per hour.

Once overland, Cyclone Phet lost much of its power and was downgraded to a tropical storm though it continued northward over Sur dropping some 439mm of rainfall in the area.

The cyclone was accompanied by gale force winds, heavy seas, storm surges and thunder storms, Sur and Quriyat have been badly affected as well as a number of localised areas of the Capital.

Cunningham Lindsey is the only international firm of adjusters in Oman and are responding to this cyclone as we did following Cyclone Gonu three years ago.

We currently have a team of adjusters in the areas worst affected and we are bringing in further resources from our regional office network to assist.

Cunningham Lindsey in Oman has a team on the ground ready to assist with any potential losses. If we can provide you with any support, please do not hesitate to contact either our country manager, Richard Dixon or Ben Price in London.
