Our history

Cunningham Lindsey in New Zealand is the result of an evolutionary journey from small firms to New Zealand’s major loss adjusting company.

Many of our senior adjusters have been working in the profession for over 20 years. Some of them were the original partners who formed the first New Zealand cooperative grouping of loss adjusters – ‘MBS Loss Adjusters (NZ) Limited’ in 1984.

By 1987 these shareholders sold their interests in the business to ‘Robins Davies and Little’ – a major international adjusting firm. This allowed a corporate structure to evolve and the company started to see the benefits of an association with a major international adjusting house.

In early 2009, Cunningham Lindsey acquired the GAB Robins international businesses and their forensic engineering firm, EFI Global. This acquisition has enhanced the company’s position as a leading provider of loss adjusting and claims management services to the global insurance markets.

The combination of these two businesses with more than a century of experience, a known trusted brand and a reputation for delivering an immediate response to claims has enhanced their already impressive global footprint.

Since the acquisition Cunningham Lindsey has increased their highly skilled technical adjusters operating in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.  They enjoy market leading positions in many of these.

Cunningham Lindsey is now one of the leading global loss adjusting and claim management companies. They offer their business partners fast, efficient and above all, consistent service from their operating platform of over 600 offices and by more than 7,000 employees.
