The successful candidate will have 5-7 years all-lines adjusting, particularly with a strong background in general liability and bodily injury exposures. As well, they will have completed their all lines general adjuster license in the province of Ontario, or have completed the necessary CIP courses that entitles one to an all lines adjuster license and are prepared to write their orals as soon as can be arranged with the FSCO. Experience supervising/managing people is an asset, as well as the people skills necessary to manage a large account. Furthermore, they will possess excellent organizational skills, excellent communication, and training skills. As an account manager, candidates must also possess the ability to assess, negotiate, and settle claims with plaintiff solicitors, as well as the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent computer skills, as well as sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel are definitely required.

In this role, the Litigation Specialist will be responsible for maintaining adequate reserves on litigation files, gathering information from plaintiff counsel and the insured, and recommending/negotiating settlement amounts. As a seasoned veteran of the litigation process, you will be able to step in and take over a number of litigation files with little to no supervision. You will also be comfortable interacting with defense and plaintiff counsel directly.
Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of litigation experience and will have completed or be working towards your CIP designation. You will have your FSCO Adjuster's license, or be willing to obtain within the first year of employment. Along with this, you will have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with both internal and external associates, a great attitude ensuring superior customer service, and strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Post secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset.
