Nautical surveys

Our experienced team of Master Mariners, are members of the Nautical Institute in the United Kingdom and regularly carry out nautical surveys.

Our team has acquired a huge amount of experience in loading, lashing and discharging surveys.

At the request of cargo interests, special project cargoes are accompanied from the factory to destination. During the loading in the ports, our Master Mariners also inspect the vessels involved regarding their sea-worthiness prior to loading. This means that our surveyors are completely involved in:

• Load distribution
• Effect of cargo
• Machinery and equipment
• Cargo securing
• Class certificates
• Good seamanship

During the surveys we are present during the pre-loading meetings and discuss the loading and securing of the cargo with the vessel's command. The cargo often includes heavy-lifts and cargo with deviating dimensions, for which special arrangements have to be made. Also the place where the goods are stowed on board the vessels is discussed with the vessel's command.

The goods involved are also inspected prior to loading in order to assess if they have arrived in sound condition and if they are being stored as requested by shippers.

Our specialists are well versed in lashing strength calculations for the cargo and stability, shear-force and bending moments' calculation of the vessels carrying the goods.
